Mission
Music Starts From Silence (MSFS) is dedicated to the creation, performance, publication, recording, and distribution of music by exciting artists of our time. Established in 2007, MSFS has quickly gained a reputation for presenting some of the best in new music. With a catalogue showcasing leading contemporary artists in indie-calssical, post-rock and post-minimalism (see below), MSFS has also presented live events featuring a myriad of superb artists including Erik Friedlander, Dafnis Prieto, John Amira, Emily Hope Price and others. The company has non-profit status through it's relationship with The Field (see below), and collaborates anually with Make Music New York.

Polka the Elk (2011), Rachael Elliott's first solo album, features the music of Padma Newsome (Clogs, The National), David Lang (Bang on a Can), and Tawnie Olson, with performances by Clogs and John Orfe (Alarm Will Sound).
Zodiac Dust (2009), Loop 2.4.3's "mesmerizing" first studio album.
Batterie (2007), Loop 2.4.3's first album, from a live radio performance on KEXP in Seattle.
